In 2019, we made the big move from the Wairarapa to Christchurch to manage Cranford Cottages and Motel, bringing our three kids (ages 9-13) along for the adventure. <h2>Payment Policy</h2><h3>Confirmation</h3><p>A valid credit or debit card is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation.</p><h3>Why Book Direct?</h3><p>Enjoy our Best Price Guarantee, priority room allocation, and no credit card surcharges when booking direct with us.</p><p>For cash payments, a refundable security bond may be required for the duration of the stay to cover any damages, excessive cleaning, lost keys, smoking/vaping breaches, or unpaid charges.</p><h2>Confirmed Guest Numbers</h2><p>Guaranteed minimum guest numbers for group or multi-room bookings are required fourteen (14) days prior to arrival. Final guest numbers must be confirmed at least two (2) working days prior to arrival.</p><p>Charges may be based on the confirmed guest numbers or the actual number of guests staying, whichever is greater.</p><h2>Price Variations</h2><p>All prices are current at the time of booking and every effort is made to maintain quoted rates. Our motel studios are self-contained and well equipped, offering everything you need for a convienent and easy stay, including full kitchen facilities and parking close to your unit.

Please note:  Our studios offer a more traditional self-contained layout with a private verandah for outdoor seating.  They do not include a private garden setting or outdoor spa, which features are exclusive to our cottages accommodation. 


Motel Studio - Comfortable and Practical Stay

Our One Bedroom Apartments offer spacious, fully self-contained accommodation, with a seperate bedroom and living area, ideal for longer stays, families or guests wanting extra room and independence in Christchurch.

Each apartment includes a full kitchen making it easy to self-cater during your stay along with a comfortable, traditional layout designed for practicality and convience. 

These apartments are set in a mix of upstairs and ground-level configurations, with some offering a balcony and others provide direct access with parking located coneniently outside.

All apartments include free Wifi, off street parking, and everything needed for a comfortable and independant stay.  


One Bedroom Apartment

Our Standard Cottages – Full Kitchen offer a fully self-contained, open-plan accommodation option designed for guests who value independence and the convenience of full cooking facilities during their stay.

Each cottage includes a full kitchen, comfortable living and sleeping space, and a private, individually gated outdoor area, providing a practical and flexible stay experience.

Standard Cottage

Our Superior Cottages offer a spacoius and refinded standalone accommodation option designed for guests seeking extra comfort, privacy and flexibility during their stay in Christchurch.

Each cottage is open-plan and fully self contained, featuring a full kitchen, comfortable living and sleeping areas that create a relaxed and easy stay experience.

Set within individually gated grounds, these cottages provide strong sense of privacy while still offering a unique connecting gate between the cottages - ideal for families or groups travelling together who want both independence and the option to stay close.

With space, privacy, and flexible layout options, these cottages are well suited to couples, small groups, and longer stays looking for a more comfortable and elevated cottage experience.



Superior Cottage

Designed for couples and guests seeking a quiet, private escape, our Spa Cottages offer a standalone stay surrounded by gardens and space to unwind. 
Each cottage features it's own outdoor spa area (hot tub), creating a relaxing retreat after a day exploring Christchurch or attending local events.  With a peaceful setting and added privacy, these cottages are ideal for getaways, longer stays, or simply switching off. 

Inside you'll find a comfortable, self contained layout with everything needed for a relaxing stay, along with easy parking and convienient access to the city. 

Please note:  Spa Cottages are standalone and offer more space and privacy than our standard motel units. 


Private Spa Cottage - Gated Outdoor Retreat

Enjoy a peaceful ground-floor cottage overlooking the pond and gardens, offering a quiet and comfortable stay in Christchurch.
Designed with convenient step free access, the cottage includes wheelchair friendly pathways, wider doorways, and a practical open layout.  The bathroom features a walk-in shower with seat and grab rails, plus additional support rails beside the toilet.

A kitchenette with cooktop and microwave make preparing simple meals easy, while share deck provides relaxing outdoor space to enjoy the garden setting.
